In his text, Stephen Ryan stablishes six topics to improve and make successful a lesson plan, which leads to a successful class itself. Comparing the text to Karlys Wells' "Buying a Car" lesson plan, there are some considerations to be made. Firstly, I must say that it doesn't seem to be a lesson plan for a single class, even because a research project is required and it will need other sources, as informed in the own plan. As a long-term lesson plan, it's possible to notice that three of the topics pointed by Ryan are not possible to be identified, such as "Have Consistency in Teaching Style", "Have Structural Awareness" and "Be clear about student-teacher Relationship". As for the other three points, Wells have achieved them successfully. There is feedback in each of the tasks; the brainstorming requires oral production, the group activities and classmate-consulting make the teacher aware of what's going on and writing production is checked before publishing. The goals are explicited in the very beginning of the class, when the teacher asks the questions "What general factors enter into a buying decision about a vehicle? How can resources and a decision grid be used to make choices about a specific set of vehicles?" Besides, the framework is quite well presented: a warm-up with the questions, a presentation of the task, a controlled practice (decision making phase), a free practice (sharing phase) and a feedback. Concerning to Ryan, it is a model of a good lesson plan.
