Subject: Task7

The lesson designed by Karlys Wells has lots of opportunities for increasing fluency and vocabulary because besides the technical vocabulary related to cars, they will find descriptions, adds, etc. and until the end of the lesson the class will make decisions, will conclude the task and report it.

I found the context/subject of the lesson meaningful, presenting a real life situation because buying a car is a situation we go through many times in our lives.
I just felt that, at some point of the lesson, the grammar points should be exposed so, as stated by Ryan, students will be motivated and interested if they know which structures they will be practicing and how to use and adapt them into a given context.

I can’t comment on the rest of the items mentioned in Ryan’s paper because by just reading Wells‘s lesson plan, I can’t know about his style of teaching, the relationship student-teacher, the routine established and cultural awareness. The only point that should be different is the grand finali of the lesson. In my opinion, after receiving the written report that, in a way is a feedback because of the corrections made by the teacher, the closure should include a oral report. That could be, for example, how they reached the final decision and why, if there were more points of agreement or disagreement, etc.
The reason to do this modifications because there is no reference to a verbal feedback and observations and this final interaction would provide a very good opportunity to the teacher follow Ryan’s advice that learners need concrete feedback.
