Level: Intermediate

Newspaper New
In groups of four the students receive different pictures showing things apparently not related. These pictures could be:
- A Car Crash
- A man with a gun leaving a store
- A police car
- A woman crying
Then the students have to create a newspaper new to be read for the rest of the class discussing which is the best order for the pictures and choosing how to make this story sound like a new.
This activity has as intent to make the students use their imagination building the story not only with the given elements but with further information by saying where, when and how the story happened and even creating names and characteristic for the characters.
According to Littlewood this activity could be classified as Reconstructing story-sequences and ask the students not only to develop language but also do it bearing in mind a specific literary genre; the journalistic one.
