When you learn a word you can not learn it alone, because its means can change according with the context it is using. The grammar meaning of a word change depending of where and how you are using it. The objective of Lexical approach is to let the students perceive it and be capable to recognize these different aspects of a word using chunks. Differently from traditional grammar, lexical approach does not teach word by word but the word in a group of word and how this word can modify the idea. The word not works alone but always in a group called chunks. It is called grammaticalized lexis.
