TASK # 12
PROFA.: VERA MENEZES
ALUNA: GRASIELA IZAGA

Level : basic or intermediate
Communicative activity
Instructions to the students:
Fiona Wallace is a bank director . Above you have her routine during the day. Looking at these pictures you have to put them in order.

Instructions to the teacher:
At first these pictures are given to student A to arrange them into a pattern according to the explanation given before. Student B has the same pictures and they must communicate so that student B can reproduce as exactly as possible the same pattern as A .
In a second time, after they do that, they are put together and given some sentences. They have to decide which sentence goes better with which picture.
Sentences
1. Fiona wakes up at seven.
2. She stars to work at eight o'clock.
3. She has lunch at three o'clock in a restaurant.
4. She plays tennis from five to six o'clock and goes home.
5. Before dinner she studies English or reads the newspaper.
6. After dinner she sees TV and goes to bed.

****************************

According to Littlewood this is a sharing information with unrestricted cooperation activity because there is reduced level of conventions in cooperation between learners. The students have to cope together in order to get the task completed. Instead of only asking answering questions, they have to use language for describing, suggesting, asking for clarification, helping each other, use feedback and reformulate messages if it is necessary.
They are also sharing and processing information because they have to discuss the sentences so they can relate each of them to the pictures. They may even change the order of the pictures they have organized before because of the sentences they will work after. In this process there will be a certain amount of disagreement and negotiation.
