Create a good communication activity and describe it to your classmates. Say which type it is, according to Littlewood.

level: basic

The students should work in pairs (student A and B). It´s an activity which one they´ll be practicing prepositions of places, numbers and colors. The student A has in his hands a story that he is going to dictate to the student B, but the student B is not going to rewrite the story, but draw the story. For example: The student A will dicate - There is a black house on the center. Behind it there are four red roses. Among the roses there is a small and green frog. Over the frog and the roses there is a long blue sky with eight clouds just below it... So the teacher will be preparing the class, she can invent the text (the size of it) according to the class. After the end of the activity, the students take turns. The student B will dictate another text and the student A will have to draw it. After the production of the two draws, the students can make comments about their draws.

According to Littlewood I could say that this kind of activity can be seen as functional coomunication activity as one of the aspects of the communicative skill is the ability to find language which one will help the students to reach their goal (that is to product the draw as much similar as to the text).
