Subject: Task 12

The exercise I chose was one of the book “Double Take 3- Listening and Speaking” page 25, exercise number 6. This exercise is called “Role-play” because a pair of students have to do a speaking activity where they should pretend to be a sports teacher and his/her students respectively. The characteristics of these students(one who likes sports and other who does not) were presented previously in an listening activity.
This exercise pushes the students to make use of a functional effectively language but at the same time the learner has to bear in mind the that other person is a teacher so he has to think of the specific language that students should use when speaking to teachers. So we can classify this activity as a “Social interaction” one.
In this activity the student have to develop the capacity to communicate with people in an social level.
