Subject: TASK 7 - Renata Cozzi Bahia - LET 175C

As the task asks us to analyse a lesson plan having Ryan´s text as reference, I would like to point out that in spite of the subject of the lesson is not very interested for me (Buy a car) I thought that idea of the project was quite good. The description of the project is good, as it requires a research and critical thinking. The main questions of the project were well chosen as the three steps of the Action (the research phase/decision-making phase and the sharing phase). I liked the idea of spliting the class in groups or in pairs, the idea to publish the students´work and also the tools which were appointed.
On the other hand, having the Stephen B. Ryan´s text as a reference, I thought that the lesson missed some aspects that are mentioned in the text. The lesson missed a framework ( a warm-up, presentation, controlled practice, free practice and a feedback). It´s very important to give a feedback to our students in order to motivate them. I even believe that the students always wait for a feedback and a comment of how they are going. I didn´t understand the goal of the activity and as Ryan says, it is quite useful to set small achievable goals to make learners aware of how they are to accomplish these goals. Through this lesson we could not say how is the student-teacher relationship, but I would like to point out that I prefer the friend-coach relationship but it is also important to make the students be aware of their responsabilities and the necessity to be respectful with the teacher.
In conclusion, I thought that the idea of the project was good, but there was a lack of the aspects (as I have already mentioned: feedback, goals, ...)pointed by Mr. Ryan.
