Subject: TASK I - IN RIGHT PLACE

1)The approach to language teaching that can be broadly labelled as communicative language teaching emerged in the 1970s and 1980s as the emphasis switched from the mechanical practice of language patterns associated with the Audiolingual method to activities that engaged the learner in more meaningful and authentic language use. The communicative approach could be said to be the product of educators and linguists who had grown dissatisfied with the audiolingual and grammar-translation methods of foreign language instruction.
They did not know how to communicate using appropriate social language, gestures, or expressions; in brief, they were at a loss to communicate in the culture of the language studied. Interest in and development of communicative-style teaching mushroomed in the 1970s; authentic language use and classroom exchanges where students engaged in real communication with one another became quite popular.

2) AFTER READING SOME TEXTS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT ( communicative approach) IT IS POSSIBLE TO CONCLUDE THAT COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH IS A KIND OF APPROACH TO FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING WHICH EMPHASIZES THE LEARNERīS ABILITY TO USE THE LANGUAGE APPROPRIATELY IN SPECIGIC SITUATIONS.

3)In my opnion the five basic elements of the communicative approach are:
-COMPREHENSION PRECEDES PRODUCTION;
-PRODUCTION EMERGES IN STAGES;
-GOAL IS MEANINGFULLCOMMUNICATION;
-AFFECTIVE FILTER IS LOWERED;
-LANGUAGE IS "ACQUIRED" THROUGH INTERATION AS WELL AS "LEARNED" FROM THE TEACHER.
