TASK 7

Many things in the lesson plan of the class “Buy a car” created by Karlys Wells are in accordance to the communicative approach and many things are not. . Analyzing and comparing some of the six areas cited by Stephen B. Ryan with this lesson plan we can find positives points and negatives points.

Negative points:

· The warm up activity that was proposed by the Karlys Wells, is very good to elicit the context. Although, before that, the teacher should incentive the students to talk about cars. A good activity for that is to stick some pictures of cars on the board in order to bring the students closer to the context and get them involved with the subject to be presented, using the authentic language in a "real context".

· The time for student’s expressions seems to be not enough.

· There’s one activity where the students are going to make a research that will give more advantage to writing and reading. Listening and speaking are in the second plan.

· The teacher should build a grid on the board with the students help, having them to participate with their suggestions on how to build a grid and what factors are important in a decision-making. After this practice the students would feel more confident for their free activity.

Positive points:

· The students need to learn about the main words about some subject. They can write about all their speech, but in presentation time they need to do it with fluency, consequently they produce a natural conversation.

· The idea of pair work is great because make students to interact one with another.
