HOW CAN WE USE PORTFOLIOS TO EVALUATE OUR STUDENTS�PROGRESS ?

I realized that recently educators have been lookinf for other alternative that can substitute the traditional and old method to evaluate the learners progress. The usage of the portfolios can be very useful as the students will have oportunities to discuss their ideas, to display good work, to make their own critical self-analysis and so on.
In foreign language the oral skill is the most important part of the student�s portfolios. The usage of videos, cds, tapes will be very important.
Finally it�s quite important to the teachers to consider the purposes of the portfolios and the audience which one is going to deal with this process.
