Cirrus entered slowly. The patronizing air that formed a flimsy cloud by her head augmented her typical impetuous deportment and rendered her more detached than was customary.

Long ago, Cirrus had built up an animosity for anyone stupid enough to rattle the fragile equilibrium of peace she and Malussinn had worked to sustain. Be it through an egocentric antagonism or a power-hungry endeavor for self-betterment, she dismissed it by principle with a flippant jerk of the fine-boned head. Dissension was not to be encouraged.

But when things became personal as well as physical, the elitist unicorn found her denigrating sealegs and condescended to make an appearance. She had a good idea of why this anemic creature was perpetrating such acts of contravention...why else would anyone want to challenge Malussinn?

Mr. Pseudo-Chase seemed to be one of those guys who was big on infringement. After the sins were safely committed, he prounounced an ingratiating and accordingly unctuous apology and withdrew to the shadows.

Cirrus took a stand by Malussinn, deliberately ignoring his opponent. Her dark eyes imparted the liberal amount of disgust she possessed for the entire business of challenging. Of course, the fact that someone had the audacity to defy her mate helped the whole disdain thing along the way. "What does he want with you?"

Worry for Malussinn's welfare now joined her growing scorn. Cirrus masked the ugly head of concern with an impish smile, though she thoroughly wished that she and he could be standing somewhere else.
