香港教育近年提出兩個極大的謬誤，一是「成本效益」，另一個是「增值」。
成本效益是商界的概念，放在教育中是最大的失誤。人人都知道，人人都會說：「十年樹木，百年樹人」，但到香港今天的教育卻要「半年樹木，一天樹人」，這是多麼荒謬啊。人人都知道教育是長遠的工作，把商界和工廠的概念放進來，殺校、裁減老師......結果有多少資深老師給叮/迫走，大家已見到了。相信將來也不易撥亂反正。
增值又是商界的東西，商人要年年增加利潤，千方百計不擇手段地要比去年賺得多，這是無可厚非(但仍是「可非」)的概念。放在教育上，就如俗語所說的「結婚要包生仔」，誰能保證用甚麼方法一定可以教育成功。我們讀教育學時都讀過，沒有任何一套教育理論可以放諸四海。今天，香港教育竟然要年年增值，年年進步。當然，對於一些二十分的學生，仍有方法令他們取得四十分，但對於一些九十九分的，怎樣增加到一百分？那些一百分的，難道不可以保持一百分，一定要增加到一百五十分嗎？「增值」豈不是荒謬，或者變成「作假」。
在這兩個謬誤的影響下，香港的教育變成各自吹噓，各自「做假帳」以保持學生人數，保持學校生存。這樣，後果一定很嚴重。
教育啊！何時才能回歸本位，真正教學生一些「學問」和「德行」呢？
