以小說謫仙記為例，欣賞作品不妨由感覺愉快開始，閱讀佳作是開心的．重看時可看作者講故事技巧和文筆，白先勇文字好，描寫人物細膩．
謫仙原是形容唐代詩人李白，小說主角李彤初出場時紅衣鮮艷，其後紅衣不斷暗淡下去，暗示巧妙，但我覺得以謫仙形容李彤是誇張了的．我們看書可先看故事，至於小說脈絡跟近代中國的關係，容後再談．
