昨天買到新井一二三的新書《東京時刻八點四十五》，很高興。記得以前在明報看她的專欄，當時年紀小，還戴有色眼鏡批評她只能寫簡單中文，後來愈看愈見其進步。很多年後斷斷續續看她的《東京的女兒》、《讀日派》、《123成人式》等等，自己向來對日本興趣不大，卻因她介紹不同的日本作家（尤其是香港少見的作品）、日本社會家庭、倫理的現況以及她現為母親、重塑自己為人女兒以及作家（or觀察者？）的身分，每一本雖不至於再三重讀，讀的時候卻津津有味。看她說的泡沫爆破後的日本，不覺叫人對似步其後塵及更反智的香港憂心。

近來較閒適，還在看唐德剛的《晚清七十年》（壹），又是驚喜處處。
