My Uncle Steve (Stewart) Llewellyn together with George Parsons went to St. Helens in 1947 and both played with great honour and where both were inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame. George went onto fame with Great Britain whilst my uncle was considered at the time as the greatest winger in league never to play for GB - he was controversially not chosen in 1953, although he did play for Wales. A quiet, lovely, very dignified man, he became one of the highest try scorers in rugby league history and scored tries in both RL Challenge cup finals for St. Helen's in 1953 and 1956. As an aside, George Parsons' Dad was the policeman in Cwmtillery and helped deliver me as a baby back in 190 squit!
