I’m sorry if the question upset you. It was meant as a simple question. I’m not usually one who is not up-to-date on the scoops. Therefore I was upset about your reaction at first. Then I thought I might just have been a mere drop in the ocean (I hope this is the expression. I had to look it up.) I hope that’s the case. I didn’t mean to offend you or use up your time. I’m always grateful for all the work you put into the board.

I think you are missing the point. It's not the fact that you asked a question. But you asked a question in which you simply could have scrolled down the board to read the scoops to find out who was on today.

Instead you asked for other people to help you. Like MA said, you took the time to post the question and your follow up. In the time it took you to do that you could have scrolled down the board and answered the question yourself.

We just had a blow-up over similar issues with other posters!! It's getting out of control.

I'm not this board's administrator but if you are so worried about being "chastised" then why do you come back? I mean I see where MA is coming from when they put SO much into keeping us informed! Look at Cindy for example... the woman types up a recap every day when it is of interest to us. This stuff is done for free and out of the kindness of their hearts. Just take the extra step. It just looks like one doesn't care enough about the work they do when the answer is right there and you don't even look for it but you have time to post on other things and start new posts of your own. Not trying to start a war, just giving my take on it.

I don't think Tatjana did anything wrong. You should be able to ask a question without getting jumped on for not having found the information yourself. I would have been happy to answer her question, except that I don't post here for fear of getting chastised by Mary Ann - which happens ALL the time on this board. It is so frustrating because this is otherwise a great site. I just don't understand the need to be nasty to the posters here.

If you have been lurking here I'm sure you have seen ALL the other posts we've had asking for this and that and please hurry and what's this and what's that requests.

Why is it such a big deal for posters to do a little research first before asking their questions?!?!? Especially questions that have easy answers such as WHAT TIME ZONE DO I LIVE IN AND SCOOPS!

You are not the board monitor and don't have to deal with all the questions as Mary Ann does - graciously.

If people don't like it here, you can leave. We've survived 10+ years without you and we'll continue.

Clearly, I am not the board monitor and you all can do what you want. I was simply expressing an opinion, as someone who likes the site, that it would be nicer not to feel like you are going to get attacked for posting something.

I'm also not really sure what "attacks" you are referring to. We had one the other day and now this. That's not a lot compared to other boards.

It's a simple common courtesy to other posters. I don't get what the big confusion is for some people -- they just don't seem to understand.

I agree with Kathryn in a way here. I don't think we have to jump on someone with a question, but choose to ignore it. They'll get the point and not post again.

Maryann and others do a lot of work here and it is awesome. Let's keep this a nice place for all.

Your name was in quotes because you seem to have multiple personalities on this board. I guess I'm not sure what to call you.

[> [> Not that I need to say anything here.... -- MaryAnn, Mon, Jan 11 - 2:21:19pm

...but as always when has that stopped me!

As Janis said - the only time I've chastised people has been in the last week - twice (NOT counting the times anyone has used the "name combination term." THAT will always get you a lashing - and usually just not from me.) Both were a case of people asking questions that they could easily answer themselves. As was noted the last time - take a few seconds before you post. Is this something you can find yourself? Then find it. Don't make others do the work for you. Sure...it might be an easy question but it takes someone time to find the info for you. In the past 6 months I've never seen so many people asking for stuff. That might be the norm at other boards but we've never been about that here.

One of the oldies last week sent me some "rules" that she thought we could implement. I went "hmmmmm do we really NEED rules?" Never in the past have I thought we needed any but maybe we do.

From now on, any of the stupid-ass questions are going to just get deleted. I don't even want them cluttering up the board so it's beyond just ignoring. Do it more than once and I'll just ban you from the board. Yea - that's a radical step and one I HATE using but enough is enough.

Oh...and welcome Kathryn and "Jocelyn." So glad that your first posts were to bitch at me. Always puts a warm spot in my heart!!!!

Not sure why my name was in quotes, but anyway I just want everybody on nice terms, I did not mean to offend.

You are not doing yourself any favors by having a snotty attitude when we are trying to explain our side of it.

IMO you still don't get it.
