I had one.... think it got tossed when the toy box was cleaned out and most of the toys were passed on or my mom took them to her KDG class for playtime use.

The communicators used in the tv shows or serials that followed the comics were after Dick Tracy used the two way wrist radio in the fourties I believe and I cannot find any mention of them anywhere preceeding the comic introduction.
Back then I ghuess the military had set radio was the smallest portable unit actually in use and when you think about it the shape makes it obvious that the first hand held telephones using cell tech were based on the old radio used in WW II if only ergonomically. But who wanted to carry around something that large and cumbersome ? the first commonly used cell phones were actually put in vehicles like corporate guys having them in limos and rich people in biz having them for personal use to stay in touch all the time. They were also very expensive.

Funny fact I was listening to a CSPAN ahow the other day about the generals and one ex military guy mentioned that during gulf war I operation desert shield he had a box in the jeep that was connected via cell phone and was horrifgied by the thought that anyone including the pentagon and top brass could call him from the usa at any time as a result.... think micromanagement on the battle field.... which did not happen but could have.
