I met Alexander Solzhenitsyn while he was in the US but do not remember the exact date when this occurred.
It may have been while I was a guide at Ft Ticonderoga if he was invited there for some event or it might have been while the Soviet Émigré orchestra was performing in Ticonderoga at the music festival in one of the early years as they were there for the first and I think second and third years though it may have only been for two years before the festival decided they needed more diversity.
At that time I believe I was also at Middlebury college for a performance they had on the village green and may have met him there as well.
A remarkable gentleman who endured many trials and tribulations and opened up the worlds eyes on the facts of the post war years in the Soviet Union and was most likely somewhat instrumental in the fall of that regime when it eventually occurred many years later.
