Aha! An actual student who worked with Jerry Corsi. I only remember a pipe-chewing individual who was pretty laconic and inscrutable in the halls or in faculty meetings. I'm really curious about how he got from "here" to "there."

Despite the fact that Bush has done his best to discredit the label, I *have* met people who were compassionate conservatives. His politics alone don't disqualify Jerome Corsi, imo, even if I disagree with them pretty intensely. What really puzzles me in the degree of anti-intellectualism and pure rage in a lot of Corsi's writing. If you google his name and read his Clinton-era postings to the FreeRepublic forum, you'll see what I mean. Chelsea Clinton is Chubby Chelsea. (An innocent victim if there ever was one, whose only sin seems to have been her parentage.) There's Fat Hillary, John f****ing Kerry, and Jean Francois Kerrie, and lots about RATS — isn't that a code acronym for Democrats? Ergo, any American who've ever voted for a Democrat, even just once, is a rat? Talk about exclusionary politics …

How does a quiet, pipe-smoking intellectual become a trash-talking, macho provocateur whose speciality is personal insult and ad hominem attacks? What happened to the Harvard (cough, cough) education? David, what was he like as an instructor? Can you share any insight on how he got from "here" to "there"? Do you recall any foreshadowing of political rabies in his FC days?

Inquiring minds want to know.
