Yes That's whom I meant. Harry who posted here as Skruff just sort of dropped out of sight a year or so back and stopped coming here. We are pretty sure his father passed away around that time and he may have decided to actually move to Canada as he was claiming he was thinking of doing though he might still be in Maine and just gave up on us here.

I kow Harry often expressed himself rather strongly and playing his music loud and obviously was one of the things he did when he was trying to make a point.
He was in the same room in the mian building that I occupied just after him and played the radio loudly out the window there as well. I got to use his AM antenna wire when I got that room but usually tuned in CHOM Montreal instead of Albany which was his favorite station.

Along with his work with and for underprivledged and neglected kids overe the years he also kept adding to his record collections and had quite a file he could share over the web. He had some connection with the University in Maine For a while and often used an address from there.
I think he was either running a program or deeply involved with one there for a while. He was very upset over the war in Iraq and some of the boys he helped through troubled times who went there and may have not survived the experience. He was also making his own bio fuel and still into the old cars , had a place in Maine and continued to help out his neighbors all the time. I think the last time he posted here was the winter of 2007 when he was concerned about the family down the road a it that was living in a trailer home while the extra deep snow and power outages were running rampant in Maine and he was going to go see how they were doing and maybe bring them back to his place.

Harry had a very diverse musical interest and along with the fifties stuff he was very much into blues and other musical forms. You would not have known it back when we were at FC but he was a big fan of surf music as well and once traded me a ventures album for the album with the original recording of pipeline by the original group to cut the single which I happened to have aquired while I was still playing in a band. Over the years he seems to have continued to buy up 78s and was interested in how you found out information about the recordings from the numbers that were scratched on some of the 33s near where the labels used to be if they had disintegrated when I mentioned this in a post here I believe.

Did you make it to any of the reunions ? I don't remember seeing you at them but especially the first one where we had so many attendees it was easy to miss people. I can't remember if I ran into you at any of them but then it is so hard to recognise each other these days.....

Don't know how his hearing is but he seems to have lived the life that carries on the spirit of what FC was supposedly teaching us. He certainly gave back more than he recieved over the years since then.

As for hearing I suppose that many of us probably have some damage from loud music as well %^}.

Later,
bill
