Jackie S ( no last name to protect the guilty no doubt ) seems to be out of touch with the majority of Alaskans who hunt to supplement their diet and hunt CAribou which have been being protected from the wolf and Bear predators by first a federal program and later when it was handed over to the state the state program since the twenties at the least.
There are I believe seven control districts in the interior where the wolf and bear populations grow too large to survive on predation of the caribou and suffer as a result , as do the caribou of course who get periodically decimated if these preditors are not controlled one way or another.
Back in the fifties the feds used poison as well as aircraft shooting to control both preditors but the poison option has been taken out of the equation since the state has been operating the programs sice I think maybe it was the seventies. Shooting from aircraft has continued as a more humane way of cutting back the preditor population than most other options which include trapping and hunting on the ground in areas that are very difficult to get to .
Palin certainly was not responsible for creating programs that were around before she was born and if she has been involved in any of the shooting it is most liklely because she was both a state official and qualified to make a clean kill instead of just wounding an animal choosn to be taken oput. At least that's the way it works everywhere that I know of preditor or game control hunting in state or federal game control areas ( there's one a few miles from here in the great swamp national wildlife preserve ).
The other way of controlling the wolf population is to let them do it themselcves naturally which they often will do when there is not enough game for the needs of the pack when they kill each other . Of course first they kill off the caribou and decimate the herds take food out of the mouths of the alsakans who inclde the native population who have a right to hunt those same caribou for necessary food and use all parts of all animals taken in the course of the hunt.
There was actually no objection to the wolf control programs until relitively recently when two new control areas were opened for the program which are more or less closer to civillization being accessible by road and mainly used for game hunting. The wolf population was no doubt killing caribou where the alaskan hunting industry would be taking hyunters who came there for the game and the control of the wolf population in those areas was more visible and presumably objectionable to the anti hunters who found out abouit the opening of the two control areas.

Alaskas school funding is among the highest poer pupil in the country as a resiult of all that oil money the state gets from exploitation of their resources for the benefit of the lower fourty eight . The fact that PAlin actually took on the oil companies for the benefit of the residents seems to have aescaped commentary and all alaskans have been benefitted by their share in the state revenues from the oil companies for quite some time since before Palin got elected.

I think it is a shame that this person looks down on the residents of wassilla as beneath her as they are more likely than not as well educated as the average person and certainly capable of making up thier own minds without the help of the ivory tower set. Her attitude toward the residents shows a lack of humanity that is appalling.

The ex relative statey who got fired apparently tasered his own kid and maybe that had something to do with him getting fired .... can anyone spell incompetant and unfit for the position ? Sound like anyone from the north country ?

No comment on Joe Biden he's severed well in the senate for all those years. No executive experience of course just being a beltway insider and loyal party member with a fairly good record for his constituency.
Second don;t really make any difference to the race though mayube a governor would be a better chice for a possible successor to a sitting president but then we have had a few of those in the oval office and it seems like they are as bad as the non executives so I guess it's a wash.

Geraldine Ferraro didn't seem to mind the comparison but then she's been there and done that so I guess she has a better grasp on what is involved than HC or the HC supporters. ANd yes Palin is NOT Hillary thank heavens.


Off the email I really don't much care which candidate makes it throuhg the election and gets the job or who they choose for a running mate.

We now have a choice between a long time senator ( senators don't make good presidents as a matter of course and few get elected ) and a short term senator who has been running for the office since he got elected ( or didn;t anyone notice that ) and one has a long time insider as a runnind mate while the other chose someone new and different.
If you like change it most likely won;t happen no matter who gets in because it has to go through the congress and that will probably be the same old, same old, as before or more of the same if the Ds get the full control of both houses NAd start pushing their agenda like the Rs who got carried away with their power trip after Newt left and went off the deep end just like the Ds did when they had full control the last time they had it.


We reeally should stop passing all these crap e-mails and blogger bits around and actually find out what and who and how before bothering but then since the media picks them up as gospel then when they are debunked just forgets to tell anyone that it was wrong or puts out a half hearted retraction , the equivalent of an appology on the back pages for a twelve point headline on the front page I suppose rational approaches to things are too much to ask.

Just my opinion of course your mileage may varry.
