You are right on the mark this time DJam (and even marginally coherent!) Turkey the neocons' dupe of choice and NATO's nigger is slowly being sucked into a multi-sided war of sectarian tendancies by the U.S. and French
intelligence and training forces giving tutelage to the Sunni 'insurgents' embedded in s.e. Turkey (and causing a lot of resentment and tensıons among the locals, mainly Christian Druse and Alevi) The intelligence Ankara used
as pretext to bring the Syrian passenger down for searching ther cargo area was undoubtedly given by the Americans who have re-activated their base(İncirlik) outside Adana. İf cross-border incidents broaden into the establishment of a no-fly zone patrolled by Turkish fighter jets and thereafter a full-fledged conflict will NATO REALLY come to Turkey's defense as stipulated under chapter 5 of their constitution? İ am skeptical...other NATO members will probably sell Turkey down the river hang it out to dry pick your metaphor...there are precedents for this type of betrayal. Add to the mix that in all of this upheaval the Kurds see their main chance at grabbing autonomy, emboldened by Esad's blessing to the Syrian Kurds to join forces with the Turkish PKK and do their worst against Turkish border posts. (There have been attacks by the joint Kurdish forces every day for weeks with a few Turkish dead every day.) And there's a huge bill to foot for housing and feeding up to 500,000 Syrian refugees scattered all over the country's southeast and the Turkish populace is footing that bill with big price hikes in al staples...the Turkish nation as a whole is paying a huge price for AKP p.m. Erdoğan's geopolitical stride towards champıoning the Arab street and still nourishing in his bosom the dream of becoming the first
president of the Greater Middle East project (this tidbit
held out to him by the last set of neocons Dubya's advisors...
