I check into this site regularly. Like you, Howie, I am often disappointed.
(I am baffled the DJam postings, which seem to now dominate the site.)
I live in Portland, Oregon. I am the beneficiary of a very good (second) marriage to a successful woman who is generous enough to take care of me in the manner to which I was never really accustomed.
