Me too.

I remember when I first got to Franconia they had the temporary bridge on the road to sugar hill that was put up by the army corps of engineers after the gale river flood that people marked high water on buildings in town like the bank on the littleton side on main street.

That one I think was from ice dams on the river that backed up melt water if I remember the story rightly.

Surely there was as much water from Irene as then so wondering what happened in franconia as well as many of the other towns around the area.

I hear they lost some of the historic covered bridges but have not yet seen any pics. No Cable tv and have been too busy to search the net yet.
Might actually get some rest tonight since I have been going since 4:15 on last sunday off and on with not much real sleep and today I was rather exhausted after only three hours of sleep last night.

But we have power again which is better than many can say and the net is up and running here because I have that old slow dsl over the copper phone line unlike most of my neighbors who have fast fios and cable hookups that are still melted together down on Baileys mill road waiting for the two crews to come sort out the mish mash of burnt wires.

My niece is still without power and they had trouble just getting out from where their house is because of all the downed trees , which reminds me of when I had to leave Milos' camp one early morning after the straight line winds knocked down all those trees in the adirondacks and then across new england putting most of the area in blackout much like this one.

Would have been interesting if it happened while school was in session back in the good old days and bet the frustration factor after 48 hours would have been worse for all the stoners who ran out of their stash than for the present residents... on the other hand maybe no one would have noticed in that group...

" storm ? what storm ? blackout ? what blackout ? I mean like what are you sayin' man ? like you mean something happened for the last week ? Where was I man and where were you ? Water over main street ? "
