Subject: Pennsylvania’s Capital City Files for Bankruptcy... or maybe I'm not making myself clear
In reply to: JMcEnaney 's message, "Re: Something I wrote about 3 years ago...." on 11:46:55 10/11/11 Tue

My reason for a "payment of debt strike" is not to get away with paying bills but to send a powerful message. The banks did not and do not have to foreclose on millions of mortgages. They could very well re adjust rate loans/terms etc. (which I know some have done and are still doing but coming very late to the table and of course making sure their bailout money was in the mail.) This is just a small example of how the crisis could have been softened. Is it ok for cities and states to file for bankruptcy http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/13/us/harrisburg-pennsylvania-files-for-bankruptcy.html?hp or putting it in un-pc terms...not paying their debt. The Bush administration made it much more difficult for citizens to file but much easier for corps and govt.
