One of the more positive trends I'm seeing in the occupy movement is it includes a lot of folks who also are not "political" in terms of having doctrines to push. The positive thing is the messages coming out of the groups are community oriented rather than political (for the good of us all vs just a few).
This is what democracy is about ideally. That people are meeting in groups and coming up with concensus statements of their objectives is most encouraging, another sign of democracy in action.
The occupiers seem more aligned by a common sense of what is morally right in a just society (fair taxation and share the wealth for starters). The inherent danger I see is that of some moral position becoming a doctrine rather than a guide for thinking and action--let us not forget Orwell's "Animal Farm."

It notes some of the positives coming out of this movement. I'm keeping age in mind also, as I may be expecting too much from a lot of younger folks who are not any more savvy about the political issues than I was forty years ago.
