Thinking about Sumner brought me back to the early days at FC when everyone lived in the main building. Males on the 4th floor, females on the 3rd and offices and some classrooms on the 2nd. Sumner was in the first class at FC
that began in October '63. I was in the 2nd class but we hung out. After FC, he and his then-wife, Normanda Smith, worked with children on an indian reservation in Del Norte, CO. (Bill, if you're reading this, is my memory correct?)
Four of us drove to San Fran in the fall of '66 and sponged off Bill and Normanda
on the way. Jeez, this sounds like something you'd read in the obits. Sorry, Bill.
