Subject: Reunion 2010

I really enjoyed the reunion, and as far as I can tell, everyone else did as well. Since most of the planning and organizing happened on Facebook (and I do not have a Facebook account) I expect most of the post-event stories and photos will be there too. This link will take anyone there:

I had forgotten about "North Country Time" which says that the shortest distance between two points doesn't exist. On Saturday morning I planned to go the the Village Store, grab a coffee and munchie and go up to Peabody for the poetry reading at 10:30. Well, I got my coffee with plenty time to get up the hill, but as soon as I stepped on the porch I met and started chatting with Richard Newby. Then Rusty wandered over. Then David Goldblatt. Don Feldman and his wife Pat. Cathy Somma and David Claypool. Chris Roop. Dave Baldwin. A few others, too. Took me almost two hours to step off the Village Store porch, and I never did make it to the poetry reading!

One thing that was special was that all of the eras of Franconia were well represented, form the first days to the last. It was great meeting, and in some cases re-meeting, other Franconians. Lots of stories swapped, tales told, remembrances recalled and statuses reported.

Winston and Leslie put a lot of work into making this happen, and they certainly deserve their props.

If you're here on the Forum (especially if you're not on Facebook), I'd like to encourage you to post (or repost from Facebook) your thoughts and ramblings here.

There is already talk of having another reunion in 10 years, allegedly called the "2020 Hindsight Reunion". There are others who think that having it in 5 years would be better. What do you think?
