Anyone can get some brushes, paints and canvas and have at it. The result will be a mix of their vision and their skill. It is simpler to operate a camera than a brush. There's a whole range of things that come out of cameras, from random images, to snapshots, to the technically dazzling, to incredible art.

For something like a wedding, it really depends on what the couple wants as a photographic recording, which could range from giving everyone a small, inexpensive camera and collecting the results, to a full-blown "professional" still and video production. The nice thing is that there are no wrong answers, just more choices!

Photography continues to evolve, and it is fascinating. Availability/accessibility is expanding, as is quality, and that at both the high and low ends!
