In less than a month, communication has deteriorated from a discussion about the possibilities of a reunion next year, to name calling, sulking in corners, and a general breakdown in civility. It's truly amazing how quickly this occurs.

In any community, there will be those who think there's a rat in the woodpile, those who step up to the plate, those who resent those who step up to the plate, those who take offense to the slightest things. If we all could just take a step back, and remember that none of us are sitting face to face, able to hear the intonation of what's said, see an expression on a face, and keep that in mind, then maybe, just maybe, those who are taking offense would realise that NO ONE meant offense, NO ONE is setting down rules, none of that. It's a figment of a very active imagination, is what I am guessing.

A reunion one year ahead of time takes loads of time and effort - and guess what? WORKING TOGETHER. There will be differences, but for crying out loud, if fingers start getting pointed, accusations made, and sulking off in corners from the get go, nothing will happen. Guaranteed.

Or, maybe something will, because the movers and shakers, and needy and not so needy will pull together and make it happen because they want to see it come about. I'd vote for the latter. Leave out the sulkers.
