The ID's were made with a Polaroid ID camera. The camera used standard Polaroid pack film so each positive yielded two
"ID's." The camera back was the same as used on the 100 series
consumer cameras. One was laminated and given to the student, the other was left unlaminated and placed in the student's file. But this wasn't always done on a consistent
basis, sometimes the duplicates were simply put in box and
never matched to student records. So it is uncertain if any
of these survived the turmoil of the closure and auction and
were archived onto microfilm in Concord. A lot of records were
lost after the auction when the people who bought the file cabinets simply dumped the contents on the floor before loading them up. The other concern would be if they survived, would they still be usable? Polaroid colour
prints tend to fade considerably with age and often get
brownish hue because the reagents in the emulsion never stop working entirely and break it down with age. If they
were microfilmed, they would probably only exist as blotchy
black & white copies.
