Dear Franconia and Franconia FaceBook Friends,

Thank you to everyone who participated in Saturday's Franconia FaceBook Faceoff. Between 4:30pm and 6:30pm there were 41 different people who came online and were identified as FaceBook friends. Many of you befriended one another during the Faceoff. I would like to say it went off without a glitch, however that would be untrue. During a post mortem of the Faceoff today I learned that everyone on the conference needed to befriend one another before we began. Then use the pop out chat function to manage their individual discussions. In other words the Faceoff would have been akin to a teleconference with everyone able to chat individually with one another. And the Group /Alumni wall(s) could have been used for subjects of mutual interest. The key to making FaceBook work is befriending one another. I happen to have 160+/- Franconia FaceBook friends. So I saw everyone however most everyone else who participated could only see their friends who were online. That is why those who would participate need to go through the process of making friends with the others. To do this all we need to do is make a reqistration list of people and then allow time to befriend and acknowlege the friendship requests. So thank you and by that I mean everyone who participated Saturday because you truly gave it A GOOD OLD COLLEGE TRY. I will test this process with with some Friends first before bringing the working process back to our Franconia Group. I will keep all my Franconia FaceBook Friends posted as to the progress of my plan and how and when we can all do it again.
