Big change from the grand canyon to the hook .

I don't really get down that way much though my sister is in Avon down the lower part of Monmouth county shore. Might get by that way while going there sometime since it's one of the options for a scenic route.
It's an interesting spot for a lot of reasons some historical and some scientific . Every so often the hook seems to try and disappear during bad storm conditions but it's a moving sand feature that would come and go if it wasn't preserved as I remember it. Might get down the shore sometime soon and visit all the remaining lighthouses if I can get free long enough.
Nice thing about the state is that there are plenty of day trip locations you can get to and back and still spend some time enjoying since the state is so small.
I think tha last time I was near the hook was when my niece was getting married and I drove past the entrance road.

I'll keep an eye on the rearview if I get there....
