My freezing Franconia winter was probably 70-71. I stayed in Franconia over the looong winter break, working for the Maintainance Department, painting dorm rooms.

Actually, they were all freezing Franconia winters. I remember one cold spell when the temp rose briefly to ten degrees above zip and a crowd of lunatics put on shorts and tees and began kicking a ball around the soccer field in the snow.

But this Midwestern shit takes the cake. It may not be as cold as Franconia, but it scores hign on the Misery Factor. Maybe a recent 60th birthday has something to do with it, but you no longer see me romping around the 'hood singing "Let It Snow."
