Does the US Postal service ( a private company backed by the US government qualify ?

Just wondered since they have been bleeding the country dry since congress handed over the government operation to private a corporation that was to have cut the cost, kept the rates from going up, and provided better service for the American People decades ago and has since raised the rates exponentially, cut the service and increased the cost and has been getting government bailouts for every year since the handover.

Just wondering... seems like they were the original.

Chrysler under Ioccocca of course not only paid the government back but did it in one third of the time it had to cover the loan. Bet that won't happen again if Chrysler needs a " helping hand " this time around .
Oh yeah don't forget the amtrack system and any other government supported transportation that are prime examples of what not to do and how to loose money faster than it can be printed... NY subways for example ?

While we're at it lets increase the size of the government employees so that when the country goes under no one will have a job Anyone remember the GSA scandals back a few decades ago ? Made the creditcard scams from Katrina look like childs play.

Is this any way to run a country ?

( rhetorical question of course since obviously this is the way we do it and have always done it )

By the way Frannie and Freddie were government agengies or government run comnpanies before they were " handed over " to the private sector to run so maybe they are another example of the postal system debacle in which case USPS might be the next big takeover unless they are not going to nationalise any really large union operations of course.

More of there aughtta be a Law.

It's our right to gripe and complain.

Don't know about some of those qualifications Mark .
seems like brokers and money guys make too much and I klnow the union auto workers were overpaid for what they did since I spent almost twenty years fixing their mistakes which were undoubtedly part of the job description.
Gotta blame the designers for bad design. the company managers for killing the R&D departments so they could pay dividends ( what killed Chrysler the first time around ) and the congress and governemnt for laying requirements on the aut makers that needed to be instituted yesterday instead of being designed and developed over the time frame needed to make them actually work.

Prime example was the catalytic converter to clean up the air by removing unburned carbon compounds which increased the sulphur compound output of the conventional internal combustion engine that burns gasoline.
Idea was to reduce air pollution and the kickoff was to get rid of urban smog. Actually the cat systems increased the sulphur dioxide in the air and made more smog instead.
Oh well any comittee designed horse turns out to be a camel in the end.
