Subject: TT Cup-Fiesta Island categorization clarification

Hi,

Thanks for putting the TT Cup together!

I have a quick question to clarify the Fiesta Island categorization--it seems like I may be in a gray zone based on my age and category.

I will be 30 years old this September and am a cat 4.

How will this work out when I race Fiesta? Will the points I earn go toward a master's category or the 4/5 category that I am actually in? I want to race as a 4 (this is my second year of racing) rather than in the Master's. Will I end up being placed in the Master's category if I race Fiesta Island? I don't want to do that (yet) since I am still new to the sport.

Is there some way to have people sign up for the TT Cup? That way, they could give you their category information, and then from that their results could be posted to the appropriate category. Then Fiesta Island could be under a little more control, since a racer in any category could be in any given age group (I understand that is why it's weighted, to compensate for the potential increase in competition).

Then, results could be gathered and compared between categories, which seems a little more equitable. So, a Cat 4 racer (like me) would race their age group at Fiesta, but the results would be compared to other TT Cup racers who registered with the Cup as a 4 (or 4/5 as it actually is). It seems like this would really eliminate the age-group issue that Fiesta creates.

Just wondering if that may help streamline in any way (and hoping the sign up wouldn't cause more trouble).

Again, thanks for the work and the clarification.

Bryan
