In reply to: Another Masters Racer 's message, "Re: TT Cup Points Calculation" on 16:44:27 10/30/03 Thu

Fiesta Island is not USCF, the racers that compete do not indicate their USCF category, if they even have one. It is not possible to know who is a CAT 1/2/3 or Masters or 4/5 until the racer competes at a USCF event. Even so, a CAT 1/2/3 rider may decide to compete in a Masters race - these results are cross compatable and will apply. For sake of fairness, CAT 4/5's are not compatable with Masters results.

Fiesta Island results are sorted as best possible, considering that the results are non-USCF.

It is not possible to sort out USCF categories in a non USCF race.

For this reason, and because historically Fiesta Island is a much more competitive race and fields a larger turnout per group, Fiesta Island has been given a higher multiplier.

Remember, Fiesta Island races only account for 5 of the 20 total races in the Cup. It is not necessary to race at Fiesta Island at all - you can race the other 15 events and still win the cup if you get enough points.

Thanks for your feedback

Gary
