Subject: carbon wrapped stems by the bunnyman institute

While researching my construction techniques for building a one-piece bar, I have found that I can wrap any ROUND stem with a layer of carbon fibre for aesthetic value. I will not say whether or not this wrap will stiffen the stem, as it is the bunnyman institute's policy to NOT make any unsubstantiated claims; though I would wager to say that it probably weighs less than paint.

Through this research, I have decided to offer this service for anyone who wishes to have a different manner to personalise their stem.

The stem will be prepped through a small amount of material taken from the pipe-portion of the stem, followed by a layer of glass fibre (to insulate from galvanic corrosion), then two layers of carbon fibre. The bunnyman institute logo will be integrated into the epoxy, but your name can be added (depending on the number of letters) for an additional charge. I usually leave the seam from my compaction techniques to show that this is NOT a decal. Please note that many so-called carbon stems are done this way, as are many so-called carbon bars and such.

I will offer this service for $30 plus shipping. The turn around right now will be roughly a week. I can also wrap the stem more than twice, but this will involve more material removal and extra carbon; please ask for a quote. Please e-mail me for details: velobunny@aol.com.
