Subject: weight of finished stem
In reply to: bunnyman 's message, "carbon wrapped stems by the bunnyman institute" on 21:41:30 03/20/04 Sat

Update:

on a stock Specialized stem (for example), the stock weight was 162 grams. The stem weighed 182 grams after masking and prep. After the epoxy cooled, the stem weighed 170 grams. This only added EIGHT grams to the total weight, and probably added a bit of stiffness, as well. I think a proper paint job weighs more than this, and does nothing for stiffness, nor is as permanent as bonding carbon fibre.

E mail me today to get the process started.
