I've seen absolutely NOTHING in their relationship as given on the show to convince me that the two of them feel anything for one another. The only conversations/scenes they have been given (until the one at the start of this season) have involved sex, Alex, or work. Which says to me that the only thing they HAVE holding them together is sex, Alex and the fact that they work together.

If the writers want us to buy this relationship, they need to give us something to work with, and give us ANYTHING to convince us that Luka would even WANT to have feelings for this immature, thoughtless woman who's been jerking him around emotionally since the day they met, and her son who is the most unlikable character to grace the series in a very long time.

To me, his "I've spent too much time wasting time" line means that he's just sick of being alone, and she is, apparently, available, so he picks her as the one to be with.
