Date Posted: 09:45:20 09/27/03 Sat Here is your synopsis of the premiere as perceived through my completely biased eyes. I'm sure everyone will weigh in on things that I've missed, mistaken, or skewed. We open with Carter arriving in the middle of the night at Abby's apartment. She wakes up, and after some barely-pleasant small talk, in which she asks pointedly, "so you just let yourself in??" she asks for her key back. He drops it off on his way out the door. Pratt is sprinting through the city and the subway station because he's late. He makes it to the subway car, sits down, relieved, and uninterestedly answers "yeah" when the lady next to him asks if he's a doctor. Then he glances at her and sees that she's a hottie, and smiles at her and gives her his full attention. A soccer mom (or football mom, to you), whom we saw earlier picking up kids in a carpool, keeps getting distracted from her driving because she's on the cell phone. However, instead of crashing due to her cell phone use, she surprised us by just passing out after she gets off the phone. The Volvo (with three kids in the back) goes out of control, hits some cars, ends up upside-down, and then gets hit by a truck. I think (?) this wreck ended up being pretty close to the entrance of the emergency room, conveniently enough. A beautiful young lady (the new gal - Parminder Nagra) nervously picks her way through the wreckage and into the ER, which is almost as chaotic as the scene outside, due to MASSIVE renovations going on. THere are ladders everywhere, workers everywhere, Weaver is shrieking at all the construction workers, sparks are flying (literally) from electricians, etc. She goes to the front desk and tells the front desk guy that she works here. Weaver is desperately looking for Dr. Lewis, who is found leaving a little tryst with her ex-husband in one of the rooms of the hospital. As Pratt is sprinting into the hospital, he meets up with Carter. They chit-chat nicely. Carter walks in and is a little taken aback by the construction. Weaver sees him and asks crankily (imagine that?!) if he brought Kovac with him. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
