Sounds like the Garden City guys were yhe smart ones. Besides having to pay $90 to race. The pay out sucked. I have never been to a track that the pay drops from $1500 for first to $200 for second. I have also never been to a Race that more than a week later the winners still haven't received their money. It damn sure wasn't worth taking home a motor in pieces for a lousy $210. Did you ever stop to think that it wasn't a very good idea to schedule this race the same week as the Knoxville Nationals.
There has been race dates changed and rearranged so that the liberal guys could go watch their friends race in Dodge City.
I don't see why it would matter to you. It just means less cars to contend with. It still payed $1500 to win.
Before you get all pissy maybe you should have asked how many of those guys were in town that weekend, or how many cars were not running.
We weren't going to make the trip until Shane called and asked us to come. I personally don't like inhaling all the dust, and having dirt in my eyes for 3 days afterward. We race to have fun. We don't enjoy racing in Liberal If it wasn't for the series we wouldn't be there either.
With the points set up as they are if you miss or have one bad night you are out of the running. Can you tell me why someone would want to make the drive and spend about $200 just to race for the hell of it. I went back and looked at the series points and only see 2 people that ran all the series nights that wern't there and I know that one of them was out of town. I can gurantee that most of the people that are racing with us aren't doing it for the money. If they are I hope they don't try to go into business for their self because the will never make it.
While you are on the wagon about guys making the trip to race let me ask you why the liberal guys didn't make the trip to race in Amarillo? There were people from Garden City there. We posted our money race on the web site and announced it at the drivers meeting. Looks like the Amarillo guys make it to Liberal. Damn that shoe does fit the other foot doesn't it.
Not trying to start any thing I just think that before anyone starts mouthing and pointing fingers they need to step back and look at the whole picture. How many People came from Liberal to race the weekly race that Garden City had?
