Now that Janet is aware of her extremely high risk for developing Alzheimer's, she can now come to terms with the suspicions she has had for years. Since she went into the APOE test assuming she was at high risk, so the news that her assumptions were true was probably not very shocking, although still scary and disappointing. With the results of the test, her family can now prepare for the future with the knowledge that Janet will most likely develop Alzheimer's and thus deteriorate physically and mentally. Her family can prepare financially and mentally for this coming situation.
