I, of course, was speaking from the perspective of having not taken a horror film course. I have taken film classes though (as it was my original major), and I was aware that horror used certain techniques that classified something as horror.

However, you do pose a problem for me. How should I have stated my observation?

I am a semi-avid horror fan. I don't scare easily, but I wouldn't say that I am jaded. I am creeped out by particular images, and Supernatural has hit a lot of them.

Could I say that Supernatural attempts to scare its audience more so than Buffy ever did?
