World's best swimmer is next to a drowning man. World's best swimmer doesn't HAVE to do it. So, the man drowns. No, he didn't have to do it.

However, I consider it a monster for it.

Buffy would agree with me. She's the best talented for the job and like a surgeon who refuses to use those skills in an emergency situation, she's got an obligation because the other choice is to be profoundly selfish and a waste of human flesh.
