I always saw S6 Willow as a continuation of the hacker we saw very early - the one whose attitude was a childish, "I can do it, so why shouldn't I do it?" This was largely glossed over when it involved municipal records, but became a major problem when she became able to actually hack into reality.

As did I. I'm not really sure how much Joss/The Show was factoring that in with the S6-7 Willow arcs, though. I don't remember any comments - within the show - where anyone had drawn the connection from Willow's hacking with computers to hacking reality with magic as part of some overall assessment of her character...

I would have liked something that led in that direction, but I don't know what it would reflect upon Joss that it wasn't there...
