So, according to this 2nd-generation quotage, canon is what glows in Joss's brain & makes you tremble. Or, OK, canon is Joss-written, or at least Joss-approved. I'm not sure if any of the novels fall into this category, but I'd say the comics are subject to this criterion. And the movie's canon, of course. If it ever gets made.
