Maybe it was Buffy's reaction. If I didn't know better, I would of thought she was having an orgasm, not being snacked on. I think the vampire biting as metaphor for sex has a long history starting with the first vampire stories. Certainly Darla/Angel and Drusilla/Spike encounters were ripe with sexual suggestions. I even think Drusilla/Darla was positioned as a sexual encounter. But maybe it is my previously acknowledged perversions that make me view it this way. I am pretty sure that I am not the first nor only viewer to see this as I am not all that good on metaphor but even I picked up on it.
