I hope you don't mind me putting my two-penneth worth in
I am new to posting and I have not really figured out the etiquette but I did not consider this in any way a private discussion. I welcome any response (well, maybe not any but certainly any with a least a modicum of reasoning – I set the bar pretty low as otherwise I would not qualify to post).

I think you make some excellent points. I to believed Angel was disillusioned and no longer had much faith in the PTB. After the whole Cordy as a higher being and Jasmine, how could he not be? I think Angel was doing what he thought was right, making life a little less cruel and harsh one person at a time. He did not expect a reward. I was watching Orpheus this weekend and he made a statement to Faith that the fight never ends, that the journey is never over. I just see this attitude from Angel everywhere I look.

As far as Connor being the Shanshu, I think this is an interesting idea but I am not sure when exactly I see Connor representing the Shanshu. Perhaps in Origin or maybe NFA, when Connor learns that Angel is his father and that he is okay with that and has gotten beyond the Holtz/Quor-Toth experience. Until that point, I really can’t see how Angel would view himself as being a good father since until Home, Connor was so unhappy as to be dysfunctional and afterward Connor was mind wiped and unaware of Angel.

I really like your suggestion that what was left to Angel was freedom. That is what I would like to believe anyway. I just love these discussions/debates! Thanks for your input.
